Five successful city dwellers, strangers to each other, set out on a commercial rafting trip navigating a magical river in the American southwest. As their ten-day journey unfolds, we follow Margaret and her companions, Benjamin, Annie, Malcolm and Jeremy as they each gradually awaken to our culture’s profound illusions. Through conversations with their river guide and his cohorts May and the professor, all of whom have sage-like wisdom, bonds are forged, fears are conquered, and new possibilities are revealed. Each traveler emerges from the river with a newfound sense of clarity and purpose for their lives.
